So wrote one of the greatest storytellers of all time: William Shakespeare

Cartoonists, likewise, are storytellers who make a point with drawings and minimal dialog or narratives.

One of the greatest storytellers in the 20th century, The Far Side's Gary Larson, fits the bill of brevity and wit.
