My mother-in-law just turned 91 years and is part of the "greatest generation" that is passing away. I'm grateful that she wrote down some of her memories from the Great Depression and World War II. As we see a parallel in our time, there seems to be a renewed interest in the Great Depression.
I have posted her first hand stories on my website:

I hope she writes more for we can learn from her wisdom.
This is my first blog. Be kind.
ReplyDeleteYeah! Welcome to blogging, Susan. You're a wonderful writer ... I'm looking forward to reading!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the encouragement, Michele.
ReplyDeleteHow sweet to share your mother's stories. These definitely need to be preserved.
ReplyDeleteSusan,
ReplyDeleteWelcome to blogging.
I read your mother-in-law's stories. How wonderful that she is able to share these very important stories with you and that you are taking the time to write them down. Keep at it.
We are buying a royal manual typewriter for my mother-in-law to use. We hope it inspires her to write down more memories. Susan
